Hyphos was created from the passions of people with obscure hobbies. When we couldn’t find people who shared our penchant for cat jousting (scratch that), or playing dodgeball with knives (scarred for life), we decided there needed to be a better way to meet new people in our area that shared our interests. So we pulled out our matching MacBooks, headed to the nearest place with WiFi, and started creating.

We want Hyphos to be a place of discovery, and wonder. Basically we want Hyphos to have all the excitement of medieval jousting without the casualties. Hyphos is a place to hang out, and a place to meet people who are like-minded and share your interests. You see what you care about, so you don’t have to hear about your Scandinavian film buddy Bjorn’s posts about synchronized swimming if you don’t want to.

We hope that Hyphos can be a way to find those rock climbers, unicyclists or whatever else floats your boat. We want Hyphos to inspire you to expand your web and create groups that translate to the real world.
